Anniversary Vacation!

A couple months ago we decided to take advantage of the break in between Summer term and Fall semester and disappear for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. One year, baby! We found a hotel in Park City and counted down the days. Now, it has come and gone. *Sigh*. We didn't really have any big plans set for the vacation. It was basically a time when we could relax and unwind after this busy summer and rejuvenate ourselves for the busy few months ahead.

LOTSA GOOD FOOD!!

Succulent sandwiches at Quizno's.

A delectable dinner at P.F. Chang's in SL.

Bomb burritos at Bajios.

POOL TIME!!
We had the pool to ourselves one of the nights so we went crazy with the camera.

Whoa. Nice air.

Hi-ya!! Karate.

We were just skipping along . . . into the pool.

10.0 - 10.0 - 9.8 - 10.0

SHOPPING!!
The outlet mall was practically across the street from our hotel. How could we resist?

Awkward . . .

The spoils.

WHAT A GREAT ANNIVERSARY VACATION!!

The happy couple.

The best year of our lives.

I'm the luckiest man alive!

A Few New Posty Posts!

Read one, read all! We've had a few things to update y'all on. Read on.

Food! Glorious Food!

Jessica never ceases to amaze me. She's baked the Baltic, she's mastered the Mexican, and now she's illuminating the Italian! I couldn't think of anything with an 'i'. Give me a break. Check out these two delicious diddies she's dominated.

1. Italian Sausage Something-or-the-Other

2. Garlic Parmesan Chicken

The Barbers are Back in Town

On Sunday we headed down to Spanish Fork to Grandma and Grandpa Lewis' house for a little celebration. Ashley, Jordan and Chelsea Barber came in from Kansas and Jeff Lewis is getting ready to head up to USU. So, it was a welcoming and a farewell of sorts. Craig's family was there, Darrin's family was there, Sheila's family was there, we all were there. Fun fun fun.

Jordan, Chelsea and Ashley Kay.

We do like taking pictures of the two of us.

Joshy and Carson. Like to pose.

Sib Yuav!! Marriage!!

Drew and Julie Graham were married last weekend. Drew was my MTC companion and companion twice more times in Wisconsin. Best friends, you know. It was a beautifuldismal rainy morning that eventually cleared up into a beautiful blue sky and perfect temperatures for the wedding and reception. The newlyweds were beaming the whole day and looked so happy. It was fun for Jessica and I to be back to our temple (Mt. Timpanogos) for another sealing. The last one we witnessed was our own. Also, a bunch of mission peeps were there for the sealing and reception.

Congratulations Drew and Julie!!

The Happy Couple

They flew in all the way from Appleton, WI.

Woot! Marriage!

Fun with wardies and ex-wardies

Last week we had a good rendezvous with Braden and Mandy Boyer who moved up to Wymount last month. We got together for some eats, had a tense Walmart competition and then met up with Curtis and Eliza Bradford for a movie. It was a blast! The storm that night even shut down all the power in Walmart for a minute or two. Scary.

Power outage. This guy on the left was guarding the door so
nobody took off with loot. He was pretty serious.

Jessica's taking a little something for the party.
Ha! Not really, it was part of the game. I put it there.

Our First Anniversary! 08-08-09

Woo hoo!! We've been married for an entire year! It's been said that the first year of marriage is the hardest. If that's the case, we've got it made! We both agree that this past year has been the greatest year of our lives.

That morning, Jessica had to work and I had to take an exam, but once that bidness was over, the day was ours! The day included a fabulous meal at Tucano's and sealings in the Provo temple. It was fun as the day went on to think about our wedding a year ago. We were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos temple at 1:20 pm, had a luncheon at 2:30 and by 5:00 we were gone! It was such a beautiful day and our first anniversary was a great day to celebrate the greatest day of our lives!

A delicious reservation at Tucano's.

Spiritual bookends to our first year, we did
sealings in the Provo temple.

Surviving the Swine Flu

So, it's been some time since we've blogged the blog. Let me tell you why.

A week or two ago my buddy showed up for class unwell. Two days later I had to leave campus early because I had some pretty violent chills and a dry cough. I went home, straight to bed and woke up with a fever of 103.something. Jessica got home from work, took care of me like the wonderful wife that she is, and two days later she was waking up with the same thing I had. So, for about five days or so we were taking care of each other as we quarantined ourselves in our apartment.

So, the story goes that my other buddy in my class that sat with me and my sick friend has a young son (he's about a year old). That buddy got sick and a day or two later his son got sick as well. In case you're getting lost, here's the rundown in order of who contracted the virus:

Buddy 1 - Me and Jessica - Buddy 2 and son

So, Buddy 2 takes his son in to see a doctor. And the doctor diagnosed him with the SWINE FLU!! Fortunately, his son is on the up 'n up, so all is well.

So, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. It is highly likely that we had the swine flu! But no need to worry, we've survived the dreaded pandemic!
